Deerfield, NH is a Rockingham County town that has a population of around 4,000. Incorporated in 1766, Deerfield is believed to be named after the Massachusetts community of the same name that was formerly home of many of New Hampshire's first settlers. One of those early residents, John Simpson, fired the first shot in the Revolution during the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775. The town has been attracting thousands of visitors since 1876 thanks to the annual Deerfield Fair.
